March 30 Career Day features Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice Opportunities

ACC will host its annual Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice Career Day on Wednesday, March 30,  from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. in the Summit Room (M1900).

Students looking for career opportunities or information on ACC’s various law enforcement programs should take advantage of this free event.

Over 25 employers will be on site offering applications and information on law enforcement career paths. Employers are mainly represented by police departments, but some private and federal representatives will also be present.

Those interested in applying to the Law Enforcement Academy must be over the age of 21, but all are welcome to explore the opportunities.

Employment opportunities are not the only thing covered during this career day, ACC seeks to inform and inspire with this event as well. Educational opportunities will be discussed as ACC’s Law Enforcement Academy and Criminal Justice Program will be available to answer questions and offer guidance to interested students.

The majority of employment opportunities comes in the form of Law Enforcement departments. Local municipalities such as Englewood and Aurora will have their police departments on site, but departments further away are also represented by the likes of Golden and Castle Rock.

Several Sheriffs departments will be represented, including: Arapahoe, Gilpin and Weld County.

Looking for work in the city? Denver will have a strong showing with their Sheriff and Police Departments at the career fair.

Jobs are not limited to the county or state level, as federal and state departments will also be in attendance. Both, Colorado and Wyoming will have their State Highway Patrol available. Hunters and outdoorsman in the student body interested in a career that will keep them close to nature should talk to the representatives of the U.S. Forest Service and the Colorado division of Gaming, which will also be in attendance.

Government jobs may not be for everyone, at the Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice career fair, private sector career options are available. Lodge and Gilpin Casinos will be present along with Advantage and AlliedBarton which are companies who provide security for private business or property.
