Denver D Puts Colts Away for 2-0 Start

The Denver defense does it again, helping lead the team to another victory over the Indianapolis Colts.  Denver’s relentless defense forced two turnovers that resulted in a pair of touchdowns from Aqib Talib and Shane Ray.

In the first quarter, Colts kicker Adam Vinatieri scored a 48-yard field goal to put the Colts up 3-0. Later in the period Brandon McManus kicked a 23-yard field goal with 5:30 left in the first period to tie up the game.

The Broncos dominated the second quarter. CJ Anderson was the first to score a touchdown with 11:41 on the play clock, making the score 10-3. For most of the second period it was back and forth play. With 2:43 left on the clock, Vinatieri kicked another field goal for the Colts brining the score to 6-10. The Broncos answered by kicking a field goal before halftime, making the differential bigger.

As the second half of the game begins, star player DeMarcus Ware was taken off the field holding his right arm. After the game, coach Kubiak spoke with the press, revealing that Ware suffered from an ulna fracture in his forearm, and would be out 4 to 5 weeks.

In the third period the Colts came back by scoring a touchdown courtesy of Robert Turbin (RB). The game was kept tied at 13-13, until Brandon McManus kicked a field goal late in the third, putting the Broncos back in the lead.

Aqib Talib helped kick off the four quarter with a 46-yard interception return, making the score 23-13. Later on in the quarter, Andrew luck found Frank Gore in the in zone for a 7-yard touchdown pass. The rest of the game belonged to the Broncos, as Brandon McManus kicked a field goal with 1:52 left in the game.

On the next play Von Miller sacked QB Luck; the ball was recovered by Shane Ray, who ran the ball in for a touchdown. After the touchdown the Broncos went for the two point conversion. Trevor Siemian found Demaryius Thomas for the two point conversion.

The game ended with a 34-20 win for the Broncos.

Time of possession for Denver was 30:41, and 29:19 for the Colts.
