Colorado bounced back in Manhattan after losing to the New York Islanders on Long Island. This game marked the second of a four-game road trip for Colorado.
Parker Kelly opened up the scoring for the game, netting one at 7:06 in the second period, assisted by Sam Malinski and Martin Necas. Nathan MacKinnon scored his first of the game at 15:26 in the third period, being assisted by Necas and Josh Manson. MacKinnon would go on to score the game-winner in overtime at 2:46, assisted by Necas and Cale Makar.
New York scored twice in this contest, with the first goal coming at 4:23 in the third period by Conor Sheary, assisted by Vincent Trocheck and J.T. Miller. Artemi Panarin would score later in the period at 19:18 with assists from Mika Zibanejad and Alexis Lafreniere.
Mackenzie Blackwood had a good performance in net, stopping 24 of 26 shots and finishing with a .923% save percentage.ย
On the other end, Igor Shesterkin didnโt play too badly himself, stopping 39 of 42 shots and finishing with a .929% save percentage.
