Getting involved with ACC clubs is easy, whatever your interests
From film to astronomy to history and more, ACC has a multitude of opportunities for you to meet fellow students, develop leadership skills, improve your resume and just have fun.
“If I were to encourage students to join our club, I would say this is a fun and laid back group of people who all share a common appreciation for movies,” said Mackenzie Bruce, Film Club president. “You don’t have to know anything about the concepts of film to watch a movie.
“We aim to have fun, eat popcorn and discuss movies of all genres,” she said. “There’s nothing better than getting to spend time enjoying one of technology’s finer arts.”
Everyone is welcome, she added.
Juliet Hubbell, the club adviser and an instructor of English and Humanities, sees a practical side of the club, in addition to the camaraderie. “Film Club is nothing but fun and friends, and will be a great addition to your college resume,” she said.
But that’s far from the only place to find like minds.
Elijah Dicks, adviser of the History Club, said, “We’re like a big family.”
Elsewhere, the Sustainability Club maintains a community garden. In addition to helping build the campus community and connect it to the off-campus community, it puts sustainability into action.
