The Colorado Gallery of the Arts at ACC’s Littleton Campus is hosting its 12th annual Kaleidoscope Juried Exhibition. Submissions are due on July 9th, by 11 a.m., for the exhibition that opens on July 11th.

ACC students are encouraged to submit work from a variety of different mediums. The accepted submissions include ceramics, drawing, jewelry, glass, metals, mixed media, painting, photography, printmaking, sculpture and woodworking.

Submissions are $10 per entry, and participants are encouraged to submit as many entries as they wish. Payment is to made upon submission, and in exact cash or checks, no credit cards will be accepted.

Volunteers are needed for submission day, July 9, and those who volunteer are allowed to submit four entries at no cost. To volunteer, email the gallery director, Trish Sangelo, at [email protected].

On Saturday, July 9th, Colorado Gallery of the Arts will be open from 9-11 a.m. for final submissions. After 11:00 a.m., the exhibition will be juried until 1:00 p.m., the juror will be determined at a later date.

Art work not accepted can be picked up after the judging from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Be sure to follow the guidelines (below) laid out by the Colorado Gallery of the Arts, as they reserve the right to deny entry to any piece if not properly prepared and displayed.

Submissions Guidelines for Kaleidoscope Juried Exhibition:

• 2D artwork must be ready to hang in a frame with glass and a wire properly installed on the back. No artwork with saw tooth hangers accepted. Wrapped canvas with a wire is ok.  No wet paintings. Extremely fragile work must be in a protective frame or case. Artwork will be hung with nails only, no screws. 

• 3D work must be very stable and fit on a pedestal 17×17.  The work needs to be light enough for one person to move.  Clear lids will only be used on jewelry displays. 

The gallery will be open for a whole month for visitors to view the exhibition, from July 11th to August 11th. The Gallery is open on weekdays from 12:00 to 5:00 p.m., except on Tuesday, when the gallery is open until 7:00 p.m. The gallery is not open on weekends for viewing. On August 11th there will be a closing reception from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., after which the gallery will be open until 8:00 p.m. for submission pick ups.

Colorado Gallery of the Arts is located at ACC’s Littleton Campus, in the Annex Building, room A1300. Free Parking is available during the Colorado Gallery of the Arts operating hours in lots A, B and C. This event is free and open to the public.
