Town Hall Arts Center to present Smokey Joe’s Cafe starting Friday, April 1, 2016
The Town Hall Arts Center, a local not for profit theater, will put on its fifth production of it’s 2015-2016 season, Smokey Joe’s Cafe. With words and Music by Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller, it’s bound to be a great time.
Town Hall’s Smokey Joe’s Cafe is directed and choreographed by Matthew D. Peters, last seen at Town Hall directing and choreographing the 2014 production of Swing!
The longest running musical revue in Broadway history, Smokey Joe’s Cafe is a song and dance revue showcasing 39 pop standards, including Love Potion #9, On Broadway, I’m a Woman, Yakety Yak, and more rock and roll, rhythm and blues songs written by songwriters Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller.
Featured in this production is Jacob Villarreal as Ken. Jacob was most recently seen at Town Hall in the 2016 production of Violet, and the 2015 productions of Young Frankenstein and Anything Goes. Olivia James makes her Town Hall debut as Brenda. She was most recently seen locally in a new musical, Uncle Jed’s Barbershop, produced by Cleo Parker Robinson and, before that, in Memphis the Musical at the Arvada Center. Returning to the Town Hall stage are Alejandro Roldan as Adrian, Anna High as BJ, Ethan Knowles as Michael and Colby Dunn as Pattie. For a complete listing of cast and production crew click here.
Town Hall’s production of Smokey Joe’s Cafe, presented by Citywide Banks, opens Friday, April 1, 2016 and runs through Sunday, May 1, 2016.
Show times are Thursdays, Fridays & Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. (2:00 p.m. on 4/16) and Sundays at 2 p.m.
Ticket Information:
Reserved seat tickets are currently on sale, priced $23.00-$42.00. They can be purchased at the Town Hall Arts Center box office 1 hour prior to shows, or preordered online and over the phone. Group discounts are available for purchases of ten or more tickets. There is a student discount for ACC student tickets available online and in person.
In a continuing effort to make plays at Town Hall Arts Center accessible to all, ten value seats at $10 each will be made available on a first-come-first-served basis one-hour prior to each published curtain time.
