President Doyle offers sympathy in Oregon shootings, urges vigilance

Dr. Diana Doyle, ACC president, issued a statement of deep concern regarding the tragic shootings at Umpqua Community College in Roseburg, Ore. Here, in part, are her remarks:

“I am sure we are all saddened by the horrible tragedy that occurred today at Umpqua Community College in Oregon. Thank you for keeping their community in your hearts and prayers as they work through their healing process….

“Peace – Diana (Doyle)”

Though copycat events are rare, they can occur.

She asked all on campus to watch for unusual behavior and report any concerns to the ACC Campus Police Department.
