Arapahoe Pinnacle: What is your major right now and why did you choose it?

Frankie C. Smith-Angell: My major is in Arts-Creative Writing because I think that with the written language, it’s a truly beautiful art showing others how your mind sees, and it’s amazing when you can read and see how another individual’s mind works. The worlds created by others is a truly astounding thing and, of course, it helps when I’m a crazy book nerd. If you want to see a true ‘geek out’ please mention a book or some form of literature.

AP: If you could have any career possible after school, what would it be?

FS: I would love to become an author, but I’d also like to take what I learn and make creative writing workshops for children’s hospitals because most of those kids are stuck there in a permanent residence because they have to be supervised 24/7 and it makes me sad when they can’t always have those kid moments.

AP: What are your plans for Winter break?

FS: My plans for winter break are to sit in my insanely and lovely decorated home with hot cocoa, crocheting and watching movies, baking, cooking and eating. Of course, adult-ing comes in and I have to go to work and pay bills. But when I’m at home not doing any of that, I believe I’m going to pretend to be a kid again — and just be.

AP: What’s your favorite holiday tradition?

FS: My favorite holiday tradition is definitely the different things I do with my family, like watching “White Christmas” and “Christmas Vacation” and all the other classic holiday movies. But what I love the most is when we donate things to hospitals for the NICU and Children’s Hospital, and, of course, candlelit Christmas Eve services at my church.
