Philadelphia, Pennsylvania – The Colorado Avalanche defeated the Philadelphia Flyers 3-2. Colorado goes to 21-3-6 while Philadelphia falls to 15-9-3.

Colorado got on the board at 8:28 in the first period with a goal by Brent Burns, assisted by Martin Necas and Jack Drury. Brock Nelson put the Avs in front at 19:08 on the power play with assists from Nathan MacKinnon and Cale Makar. Valeri Nichushkin scored the final goal for Colorado at 1:47 in the second period with assists from Victor Olofsson and Devon Toews.

Philadelphia scored twice, with the first goal coming at 2:09 in the first from Sean Couturier, assisted by Noah Juulsen and Owen Tippett. The second was the last goal of the game at 5:58 in the second by Travis Konecny, assisted by Emil Andrae and Christian Dvorak.

Mackenzie Blackwood started in the net for Colorado, saving 23 of 25 shots and ending with a .920% save percentage. 

For Philadelphia, it was Samuel Ersson getting the start in the crease, stopping 25 of 28 shots, ending with a .893% save percentage.

Colorado finished the game with 28 shots, 18 hits, 2 penalties, accounting for 2 penalty minutes, and a 52.1% faceoff percentage. Philadelphia finished with 25 shots, 21 hits, 2 penalties, accounting for 4 penalty minutes, and a 47.9% faceoff percentage.

Colorado’s last game of the four-game road trip ends in Nashville to play the Predators at Bridgestone Arena on Tuesday at 7:30 pm MT. The Flyers remain in Philadelphia to play the San Jose Sharks at 5 pm MT on Tuesday.
