Ava Rodriguez is a current dual enrollment ACC student who has lived in Colorado her whole life. And Rodriguez, like many people in Colorado, has a very loving relationship with nature, “I love that we’re so close to the mountains,” Rodriguez said. “Just drive two hours and go to this gorgeous scenic area.”
Rodriguez also spoke about how much she loves hiking in these mountains and going on walks in general through nature. Along with the mountains, she enjoys the climate of Colorado, expressing boredom towards states with flat weather patterns year-round. Rodriguez talks about her sisters in Arizona, and the year-round warmth, or her vacations to Iceland in the summer, and still experiencing winter-like weather. She loves being able to enjoy the heat in the summer and the cold snow in the winter.
In the future, Rodriguez wants to move somewhere on the East Coast. She wants to learn more about herself and how she functions on her own, as well as pursue her passions for journalism and fashion. She talks about the schools she would like to transfer to after she graduates from high school in December. “I think [Colorado] is one of the best states to be living in, but I also just want to get out there and see stuff,” Rodriguez said.
