ACC seeks student input for reaffirmation process
Arapahoe Community College is currently undergoing the reaffirmation of accreditation process, an evaluation that occurs once every ten years. The process is overseen by the Higher Learning Commission and serves as an accountability measure for colleges and universities.
On April 11, all ACC students will receive an email to their @student.cccs.edu address inviting them to participate in a Student Opinion Survey. This survey, along with a list of other qualifications, will assist ACC in achieving the accreditation required to be an effective and relevant learning institution.
Without accreditation from the HLC, ACC becomes ineligible to receive federal funds (read: no financial aid or GI Bill). The college would consequently be regarded in the same ranks as Drumpf University, decreasing the chance of ACC grads to achieve gainful employment after graduation.
All ACC students are encouraged to participate in the HLC survey, which can be accessed via a link in the email and will be accessible until April 20. The purpose of this survey is to obtain student comments about their experiences at ACC and it is voluntary and anonymous.
