Transfer Club helps to navigate the process
ACC’s Transfer Club provides opportunities for all students who plan to transfer to a four-year university.
“The mission of the transfer club is to assist and support its members with the process of transferring from Arapahoe Community College to another institution,” said Wendy Winter-Searcy, the Transfer Club advisor.
The club meetings are held monthly, but that isn’t all the Transfer Club does. The meeting topics have included “how to write a strong admission or scholarship essay, and scholarship and financial aid opportunities for transfer students,” Winter-Searcy said. Those won’t be the only things an aspiring student will learn by joining the Transfer Club.
The club organizes a few university group tours every semester so the club members can see four-year college campuses, including: CSU – Fort Collins, University of Denver, University of Colorado Boulder, Colorado School of Mines, University of Colorado Denver and Metro State University of Denver.
Transferring to a four-year school can certainly be a strain on the pocketbook, but the Transfer Club offers help for their students. “The Transfer Club has established a scholarship to be provided to one active member per year,” Winter-Searcy continued.
All students who are interested in transferring should join the Transfer Club for guidance and support.
