Rainbow Reception to Welcome LGBTQ+ Students at ACC
To start the semester off in a positive light, the Student Life Office at Arapahoe Community College (ACC) is throwing a Rainbow Reception.
The event occurs on the 1st of September, and runs from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Student Life invites any and all members of the LGBTQ+ community at ACC to the South Patio of the Littleton Campus. There, students can enjoy “treats, tunes, games, and goodies.”
According to Dan Balski, the event was motivated by growing student concern with a lack of involvement opportunities.
“We want to provide an opportunity for our LGBTQ+ students to gather and build community… this event provides such a space,” Balski said in an e-mail.
“In providing this event, we are able to show support for and visibility of this community at ACC,” Balski said. “At the start of a semester, that spirit of connectedness can help us creating a welcoming environment for our students.”
Further questions and accommodations can be attended to by reaching Dan Balski at [email protected] or by visiting the ACC website.
