Faces Of ACC: Belinda Aaron – A Numbers Person
Belinda Aaron works in finance and administration, and is responsible for several tasks at Arapahoe Community College (ACC). She is in charge of spending for campus police, buildings, tech department, and even the mail room. Aaron said, “That it’s not too much work because there are three overheads who help and know how to assign.” Her work leads to more success on the ACC campus.
Aaron was born in Kansas City but moved to Houston growing up. A graduate of the University of Houston, Aaron also worked at LSU and received a doctorate from there. She moved to Colorado recently and says she loves the cooler summer weather here. She jokingly said, “Have you been to the south in the summer?” She had some family out here and decided to make the move, and one of the reasons she chose ACC was because her cousin went to ACC after his time in the military. Even after four years in Colorado, she laughed, “I’m not used to this cold at all.” Aaron is a traveler; she’s been to many different states but Covid-19 impacted her ability to travel. Aaron grew up with education, stating that her “father was a teacher.” This explains her love for schooling and education.
When conducting the interview with Aaron she clearly loved the students. Every decision she or her colleagues make is to help the school and to help students. Aaron’s efforts should not go unnoticed she is a critical member of ACC.
