Move Mountains at the ACC Fitness Center
More stories from Emily Langenberg
Do you want to move mountains? Would you like to earn a credit-hour for going to the gym regularly? Would you like to earn that tuition credit for working out in a gym with experienced staff on site to assist, or using a personal trainer perhaps?
If you answered yes, go directly to Arapahoe Community College Fitness Center.
Whether it be through a fitness class, advice from a personal trainer, or your own workout routine, the Arapahoe Community College Fitness Center can help get you get those mountains moved.
With the recent remodel this past year, the ACC fitness center is primed and ready to get you in shape! Try your hand at the super circuit, a combination of weight machines and bicycles that usually take around 20 minutes to complete.
“You’ve got goals and we are here to help you!” Kendra Hawkins, the Fitness Center Coordinator encourages.
If cardio is the name of your game, the rows of treadmills, stationary bicycles, rowing machines, stair climbers, and ellipticals are where you can get your game pieces. Several of the treadmills and stationary bikes even feature built-in video screens so you can envision yourself running on a sunset beach or biking across the French countryside.
Don’t know where to start? Students can try out a class with a $20 Fit Pass, which can get you into Zumba, Yoga, Pilates, and Indoor Cycling classes. That is where ACC student, Bryden Smith got his start at the fitness center. Bryden needed to fill a one-credit requirement and Kendra was happy to help him find his fit.
When comparing the ACC Fitness Center to that of the Parker Recreation Center where Bryden also has a membership, he claims, “as far as equipment, friendliness of staff, and cost, ACC is way better.”
ACC staff is there for you as you work your way to better health. The fitness center employs at least one degree-holding staff member at all times, to assist gym visitors during their workouts.
To help keep you motivated, the fitness center also sponsors incentive programs like the Workout Warrior, where anyone who logged 25 or more hours could win a prize in the month of October. Anyone who logs more than 45 workouts will also receive a t-shirt.
If you’re having trouble getting started, why not take advantage of the personal trainers offered? Sessions are offered on either an individual basis or at a group rate for you and a few friends. Learn proper techniques and discover new exercises from trained professionals and take your workout to the next level.
So, what are you waiting for? Head on over to the annex building east of the main building, and get moving anytime Monday through Thursday, 6 AM to 8 PM, Friday, 6 AM to 2 PM, or Saturday, 6 AM to noon.

Hello,
I was a student at ACC Littleton 1996-98. I had a membership at the gym. But I no longer remember the name of the super-circuit workout used back then, or the particulars. It was stationary bike for XX time, then a weight machine for XX time (for a number of weight machines).
Any help appreciated!
Thanks!
