Free Tax Preparation for Qualifying Families

ACC’s Littleton Campus provides a location for free tax preparation through Tax Help Colorado, starting this Friday, February 5.

ACC will provide three Fridays this tax season: February 5, February 19 and March 4. On these days, Annex 1540 will be open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. This event is for individuals and families to have their tax returns prepared and e-filed by IRS-certified officials. No appointment necessary.

To qualify, the household in question had to report an income lower than $53,000 on last year’s taxes. To participate, the taxpayer must bring social security cards for all family members, personal photo I.D. and any relevant tax documents for the specific family’s needs.

Students should bring in their 1098T form, as well as, all records of expenses paid for books, supplies, fees and any other relevant school purchases. Tax Help Colorado is interested in getting the student the or she deserves.

This year marks the fifth consecutive year ACC has partnered with The Piton Foundation to offer a location for this beneficial service. Tax Help Colorado offers dozens of locations across Colorado, and ACC provides a valuable service as the only Littleton location for this free tax service. During the 2015 tax season, ACC’s location completed 186 household returns and hopes to accommodate just as many families this time around.

Tax Help Colorado has provided a Colorado families tax information sheet with more information on what is required and provided by the free tax service. For more information, call 2-1-1, a free tax help line, or visit their website.
