Whatever. You can take care of your Halloween needs, including heads of all descriptions, here. Some of them even are attached to skeletons. And some are detached from everything.

Halloween is coming up, after all.

In operation for 42 years, the Reinke Brothers Superstore has just about any costume, mask, makeup set or prop to make your Halloween a hit this year. It stocks more than 10,000 costumes, so you’d be hard pressed not to find at least one appealing outfit.

Greg Shof, the general manager, has been working there for more than 20 years.

“I know where every single thing in this store is located,” he said. “I could name you any one costume we have and tell you exactly where it is at in the back.”

In case that knowledge isn’t enough to impress you, he also is a magician. And a fire eater.

Asked about what costumes are the most popular with customers each Halloween, his response was prompt.

“It’s been this way forever – it will never change: super heroes and pirates. Every year,” Shof said. Star Wars costumes also will be popular this Halloween season.

If you’d rather not be a pirate or a super hero, you’re still in luck. The shop stocks everything from Santa Claus to the Easter Bunny, and from elves to zombie makeup.

It also carries masks from any popular horror film you could name. All of the favorite fictional, slice-and-dice killers like Michael Myers, Freddie Krueger, Jason Voorhees, Leatherface and more can be found on the shelves.

In addition, the store has seen visits from the shock-rock icons Alice Cooper and Marilyn Manson, the former to purchase a cape, the latter to buy some makeup.

Reinke Brothers also helps sponsor almost every event put on by the Historic Downtown Littleton Merchants Association. They even do the decorations for the Tavern Restaurant down the street.

The famous annual Haunted Mansion usually is the most popular attraction – but not this year. The mansion usually runs throughout the store itself and features 33 rooms. But this year, for the first time, the mansion will not be running because of a multi-million dollar building renovation.

Reinke Brothers, 5663 S. Prince St., Littleton, CO 80120. 303-795-5006. Halloween hours (through Oct. 31): Sunday-Thursday, 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.; Friday-Saturday, 10 a.m. to midnight.
