Game 10 of the Broncos season ended dramatically as rookie safety Justin Simmons set up a late defensive score for the Broncos, giving them their sixth win of the season against the New Orleans Saints.

In the first quarter wide receiver Jordan Taylor caught a fourteen yard pass from Trevor Siemian leading to the Broncos first seven points.  Later in the first quarter, Saints quarterback Drew Brees threw a pass that was picked off by broncos safety Darian Stewart, who would find himself in position to take possession of the ball repeatedly throughout the game.  The rest of the quarter was scoreless, with the Broncos entering the second quarter with a 7-0 lead.

Early in the second quarter, Brees threw a second interception into the hands of Stewart.  The Broncos failed to convert the possession into a TD, but kicked a field goal to put them ahead 10-0.  The saints generated their first points of the game this quarter with a field goal as well, ending the first half with the Broncos up 10-3.

In the third quarter the Saints got off to a quick start.  Drew Brees found Willie Snead for a three yard touchdown, tying up the game.  On Denver’s next possession, a pass from Siemian was picked off by Saints safety Kenny Vaccaro. The Saints capitalized on the interception with a second touchdown from Willie Snead.  Denver struggled to find a rhythm offensively and failed to hold the Saints defensively, resulting in zero points scored in the third quarter.

The Saints began the fourth quarter with a comfortable seven-point lead, but the Broncos defense showed up again to alter the game.  Darian Stewart asserted his impact once again by recovering a Saints fumble.  The Broncos tied up the game with their second touchdown of the night via two yard pass from Siemian to Demaryius Thomas.

With 3:23 left in the game, Denver pulled ahead with a field goal kick from Brandon McManus.  The Broncos regained possession of the ball again with a second fumble from the Saints, this time recovered by T.J Ward.  The recovery resulted in a thirty-seven yard field goal putting the broncos up 23-17.

On the Saints last possession of the game, Drew Brees threw a thirty-two yard touchdown pass to wide receiver Brandin Cooks, putting the Saints in position to seal the game with minimal time left.  Justin Simmons had other plans, as he perfectly timed clearing the offensive line to block the extra point attempt.  Safety Will Parks then recovered the ball and ran it back for a two point conversion.  The Broncos then ate the clock and won the game 25-23.

Time of possession for Denver 39:22, and 20:38 for the Saints.
